Charles is a dedicated trainer who takes his profession seriously. I have worked with Charles for several years now and my workouts are always different. He uses state of the art muscle confusion, plyometric training techniques and resistance exercises to help me push myself into better shape. What I like about Charles is that he really cares about my health. I can honestly say that I look forward to going to the gym on the days that I train with him. I have and still do refer all my friends to Charles for personal training.
Since I had been working out regularly since the age of 15, I thought that at the age of 39 I was in pretty good shape and would not benefit from having a personal trainer. My opinion quickly changed after my first training session with Charles. During that session, I realized several things: 1) My level of fitness was not as good as I thought it was 2) the best exercises do not require lifting any weights, and 3) the level of intensity of one of my own workouts was a fraction of a Charles workout.
I started off working out with Charles two half hour sessions per week. Over the next 3 months my lean body mass increased, my body fat decreased, my core strength increased greatly, but the most dramatic change was my increase in endurance. I no longer needed water breaks during the session, I needed little or no rest between exercises, and I could do more reps than previously. The results also became evident in my running routine. Instead of running 3.25 miles in 30 minutes before getting tired, I was able to increase to 5 miles in 40 minutes.
If you are willing to work hard and sweat a lot to achieve the results you want, I highly recommend Charles to be your personal trainer.

I have known Charles now for four years, and trained with him for three. I began working with Charles when my youngest child was 1. I decided to return to fitness after the last of my three children was born and trained and ran the Marine Corps Marathon that year. I was happy to accomplish the marathon, but knew I needed to focus on my overall strength and wanted to improve my fitness level for running. Charles not only began personal training sessions with me, but encouraged my meeting with another runner in the gym who introduced me to the running team with whom I now run.
My first two months with Charles were phenomenally difficult. I had no idea what we would do in sessions, but I knew whatever it was, I would be pushed to the far edges of my ability. After six months training with Charles I trained for a second marathon and improved my time by 15 minutes. The next fall, after a year with Charles, I ran the Marine Corps Marathon in 3:27, faster than I ever imagined and qualified for the Boston Marathon!
During this time, Charles also trained both of my sons (7 & 8 at the time) and helped them learn to safely harness energy, challenge themselves physically, and increase coordination and agility. Both boys have successfully gone to compete in multiple sports (including racing 5ks) because they see what comes out of good, hard work.
My body changed from healthy and decently fit to a lean, muscular, running machine. I have endless energy, strength I didn't know I was capable of, agility, and a new view of challenges. I faced fear and failure with Charles and came out with determination and desire to succeed. I am still evolving as a 30-something homeschooling mother of three, wife, and runner. But now I soak up every opportunity to challenge myself and feel that my journey is one of the best lessons I can teach my children.
Everybody has someone who impacts their lives in some powerful way. Charles did that for me. I am appreciative and thankful for all he has done for me.
Charles has been a game changer for me. As a physically active and fit individual, the level of training and motivation I need to bring things to the next level is hard to find. Charles works with you to bring you a workout that targets any goal you can imagine- from the typical weight loss plea to the shave-ten-minutes-off-my-PB-marathon-time dream. For me, it was bringing me back to basics and focusing on a stronger core and all over body strength. I wanted to be challenged, work with specific types of equipment like kettle bells and ropes, and had some injuries to work around- all of which Charles achieved with ease. Thanks Charles for always counting down the seconds until the interval is over, giving me 'the face' when I complain, and cycling with me till the cows come home- you are the best!
Charles is an excellent trainer. I spent many a morning, at 5am, allowing him to put me through a grueling and productive workout. And believe it or not - he made it fun and interesting. He has a broad knowledge of workout equipment and techniques, so our sessions were never boring. Whether it was bands, kettle bells, boxing gloves, or abs, Charles provided the proper technique to get the most out of my workout. He spent much time, showing me exercises I could do on my own at home or traveling. Charles is extremely personable, and I would recommend him for anyone looking for a great workout with fun and encouragement.
I trained with Charles Thomas for over a year. Charles was able to support my goals of building overall fitness and strength. Each session was filled with a variety of cardio and strength-building exercises. Not only is Charles a dedicated and dependable trainer, he is a great person who is attentive to his clients' healthy mind, body, and spirit!
I have worked with Charles on numerous occasions and he is an amazing trainer and has done wonders at getting my body fit and strong. When I first started working out with him I could barely do a push up and now I do them daily. Prior to training with Charles I was only focused on running and cardio and he taught me the importance of a combination of cardio, core work and weights and this change has completely transformed my body. I have worked out for 20 years but had no idea the importance of that combination and I thank Charles for motivating me and educating me on the right way to keep my body fit and strong.
I met Charles while he was a personal trainer at Gold's Gym. He is a very personable person who knows the perfect way to challenge someone physically. Charles did several personal training sessions for me. My goal was to have better interval endurance and muscle strength. Charles created each workout to meet these needs. He varied up each one of our workouts, so we never did the same thing twice. This kept the workouts interesting and ensured that my body wouldn't get used to doing the same thing over and over again but that my muscles would have to work just as hard during each workout we did. He pushed me to get better and stronger, but knew my limits.
His workouts were challenging and effective, mixing strength work with endurance work. All in all, I was very satisfied with the personal training sessions Charles provided me with.
My name is Philip Christophe and I had Coach Thomas train me my Junior and Senior year's of High School in track & field. He had great lifting techniques and taught me a lot about dieting and eating healthy. I tried many of his protein supplements and found they all helped me out in the training world. They all helped me recover and be able to work harder for every workout. I ended up making the State track meet my Senior year and Coach Thomas would stay after everyday with me when I wanted extra work put in. He is a person who will get the best out of you every workout and will never let you dog a workout. I saw many improvements in my athletic ability and I got myself into college for Track and Field. I definitely recommend using Coach Thomas as a trainer and I also recommend using his supplements as well.
Being physically active has always been a part of my life. Building and maintaining well-toned body requires dedication to a cardiovascular exercise and weight training along with a healthy diet. I like to work out on my own but decided to seek out a personal trainer that could challenge me.
Since I was a teenager, I have been athletic, active and focused on my diet. Fitness had become a part of my daily life. But when I got pregnant I suffered some complications so I was not able to maintain my workout routine. Consequently, I suffered with significant swelling and gained 70 lbs. I worked out and managed my diet rigidly for 10 months and on her first birthday I reached my pre- pregnancy weight. However, it was short lived as I discovered I was pregnant again the following week. Everyone warned me the second time around would be harder to stay fit and even harder to lose the weight afterwards. However, I was not willing to accept this, and I found Charles. He and I formed a partnership to ensure I stayed healthy during my pregnancy and that once I was cleared to return to the gym he would support me on my journey.During my pregnancy, Charles was conscious of my pregnancy limitations, and created fun and engaging workouts sessions for me that allowed me to minimize muscle loss, work on core strength and maintain high energy. Good news, I didn't experience any swelling, felt great during the entire pregnancy and delivery was on 15 minutes compared to 2 hours the first time. Bad news, I will gained 65 lbs. (my physician said it is just my genes) Gaining the weight was very disappointing to me since I was putting forth so much effort, but the second time around I not only lost the 65 lbs., but I also lost an additional 15 lbs. by my second daughter's first birthday. Charles provide me the encouragement, support and variety in my workouts to keep going during the pregnancy as well as for the 8 months following. It was because of Charles' work out that I was able to achieve this goal.Charles's workouts are tough! But if you are a result orientated person who likes to be pushed to the limit, you need Charles as your trainer.
Charles just simply ROCKS!!! He has trained both my husband and I for the past ten years. He uses a perfect combination of diverse training methods, individualized exercise programs and challenging yet achievable goal setting. Charles is very knowledgeable about the body and knows what exactly it takes to get your body right. My husband, Randolph has trained with Charles during his off season while he was playing professional basketball. He continues to implement Charles techniques and workouts in his daily workout routines today!
Charles Thomas is a fantastic personal athletic trainer who helps his clients build strength and conditioning through a unique style of training that renews and invigorates the body, mind, and spirit. His determination in helping me achieve my goals has inspired me to take my health and well-being to new levels.
Charles is always prepared to support his clients in achieving their goals. He works with them closely to determine the best plan of action, sets goals and then implements the strategy efficiently. For example, when Charles first took me on as a client he knew right away that I needed to get back in shape not only physically but also mentally. I had endured a difficult few years before I met Charles and I needed something to help spark my life out of a rut. After we met and devised a program we started his short yet intense workouts. After few weeks of hard training I realized that the plan Charles and I came up with was giving me a new start, a fresh beginning with my life and I a haven't looked back.
In short, Charles Thomas has earned a reputation as a hard-working, trustworthy personal trainer who strives to help his clients excel. He responds with encouragement when you feel down and challenges you when you feel your best. I strongly encourage you to hire Charles as a personal trainer; he will not let you down.
In the spring of 2011 at the age of 54 I had a very painful gout attack. I quickly learned that gout which is akin to arthritis is aggravated by lifestyle - rich diet, alcohol, lack of exercise and not enough rest. It was a wake-up call about my health. My doctor scared me when he told me that if I didn't make lifestyle changes to my diet and exercise that my ability to reach or enjoy older age would be challenged. I immediately addressed diet and sleep; and on the recommendation of my doctor I hired a personal trainer for a year-long commitment of 3 times per week. Nearly two years later, my metabolic statistics are greatly improved from weight, to blood pressure to cholesterol and other blood work readings - and no more gout! I'm slimmer and most importantly I'm stronger and more fit. In short, I am in much better health at 56 than I was even at 46.Fortunately the trainer recommended to me was Charles Thomas who has worked diligently and thoughtfully with me to develop a change of life plan - a real program. He's monitored my progress and stepped up my workouts as I grew in strength as well as helping me through the plateaus. I've stayed committed to an average of three times per week working out with Charles' supervision and two years later I am able to successfully achieve a great workout which have been designed for me. The good results have been obvious to all.
Let me make you unstoppable.
